BIO
I'm a science writer focusing on environmental stories.
I've written for Nature, Science, The San Jose Mercury News, Mongabay, Eos, Smithsonian Voices, and Bay Nature.
In the fall of 2018 I spent 67 days at sea as the shipboard science communicator for a GEOTRACES oceanographic expedition travelling from Alaska to Tahiti code-named GP15. Before coming to science writing I worked in communications as a public information officer, a public relations specialist, and a researcher writing white papers on green infrastructure.
I am a graduate of the Science Communication Program at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I also completed a post-baccalaureate in ecology at Columbia University and received my B.A. in liberal arts from Sarah Lawrence College.
