BIO
Alex Fox is a freelance science writer focusing on environmental stories. 
He is based in Santa Cruz, CA and a native of Berkeley, CA.
Alex has written for ​Nature, ​Science, The San Jose Mercury News, Mongabay, Eos,
 and Bay Nature magazine.
Before coming to science writing he worked in communications
--spending time as a public information officer, a public relations specialist, and a researcher writing white papers on green infrastructure.
Alex is currently pursuing a graduate degree in science communication at University of California, Santa Cruz. He completed a post-baccalaureate in ecology at Columbia University and received his B.A. in liberal arts from Sarah Lawrence College.
